1TYM (pronounced as "One Time") was a South Korean hip-hop group, composed of three members ; Teddy Park, Oh Jinhwan, and Danny Im. Originally as four, they made their debut on November 1, 1998 with the studio album One Time for Your Mind and its title track "1TYM".
In the late 1990’s, CEO of YG Entertainment Yang Hyun Suk compiled a 7-member group of YG trainees and YG Dance Team under the name ‘MF Family’. The name comes from the apparel brand Majah Flavah!, created by Sean of JINUSEAN. As MF Family, the group participated on the track “No More” by Jinusean’s 1998 album The Real. By their debut in 1998, the final lineup had narrowed down to four following the departure of three members. The name 1TYM was created by YG’s head producer Perry, an acronym for the phrase “One Time For Your Mind”.
Across their eight-year career, they released five studio albums including their final project, 2005's One Way. Shortly after the release, 1TYM entered a hiatus in 2006 due to Oh Jinhwan’s mandatory military enlistment. Although they have not been officially announced as disbanded, 1TYM has not been active as a group since then. Their final performance was in 2008 during labelmate BIGBANG’s Japan Concert [Stand Up].
Since their cease of activities, members Oh Jinhwan and Song Baekyoung have exited from the entertainment industry. On a 2017 episode of MBC’s Radio Star, Jinhwan made an appearance alongside fellow first-generation K-pop idol singers Joon Park and Kim Taewoo of g.o.d and Junjin of Shinhwa. During the interview, he revealed that he and Baekyoung were co-owners of a restaurant business. Teddy Park is now a Grammy Award-winning songwriter and record producer under YG Entertainment as well as CEO of his own subsidiary THE BLACK LABEL. He has contributed vastly to the global expansion of K-pop by closely collaborating with artists under YG Entertainment & beyond. Following their final release, Danny Im briefly worked under YG’s rookie development department, serving as a judge of open auditions globally including the 2010 Thailand audition that recruited Lisa of BLACKPINK. He began hosting the Mnet America show "Danny From L.A." in 2012.
On June 4, 2026, Song Baekyoung announced that he officially left 1TYM, and that he contacted Naver and requested that they remove his name from the official group profile.
