BAE173 소개
BAE173 is a boy group under PocketDol Studio. Originally debuting as a nine-member group, they officially entered the music industry on November 19, 2020 with their first mini album Intersection: Spark. Their name stands for "Before Anyone Else," while the numbers 1 and 73 symbolize perfection and good fortune.
The group's formation was first announced in May 2020, with former H&D members Lee Hangyul and Nam Dohyon confirmed as part of the lineup. Over the following months, the remaining members were gradually introduced before the group's official name, BAE173, was unveiled in September. They made their debut later that year with Intersection: Spark and its title track "Crush On You," followed shortly by the release of their first digital single, "Every Little Thing Is You."
BAE173 continued to build their discography with a series of releases, including Intersection: Trace, Intersection: Blaze, Odyssey: Dash, and New Chapter: Luceat. Along the way, the group experienced several changes, including the transfer of the leadership role from Junseo to Hangyul in 2022. Later that year, Dohyon suspended activities due to health concerns before ultimately departing the group in 2023 after successfully obtaining an injunction to suspend his exclusive contract with PocketDol Studio, reducing the lineup to eight members.
In 2023, the group competed on JTBC's survival program Peak Time, where they finished in fifth place and gained renewed attention. The following year, members split their activities by participating in survival shows, with J-Min joining Project 7 and debuting as a member of CLOSE YOUR EYES, while Hangyul competed on Starlight Boys and earned a place in POLARIX. Despite these individual activities, BAE173 continued group promotions, including the release of the fan-focused project "What."
In 2025, J-Min temporarily suspended group activities to focus on promotions with CLOSE YOUR EYES, while Doha also went on hiatus to prioritize his health. Later that year, the group released the pre-release singles "One Day" and "What's Wrong?" ahead of their first full-length album, New Chapter : Desear.
The group's lineup changed again in 2026. Hangyul departed both PocketDol Studio and BAE173 following the expiration of his contract, while Doha is presumed to have left after the court approved his injunction against the agency. In June 2026, member Yoojun revealed that discussions regarding the group's future were ongoing and shared that he was in the process of ending his contract, while noting that the remaining members intended to continue meeting fans, leaving the future of BAE173 uncertain.
On July 14, 2026, PocketDol Studio announced that the exclusive contracts of Yoojun, Muzin, Junseo, Youngseo, and Bit had expired on June 30, 2026, and were not renewed.
