KARD is a four-member South Korean co-ed group under DSP Media, consisting of J.Seph, BM, Somin, and Jiwoo. They officially debuted on July 19, 2017, with the mini album Hola Hola, following a pre-debut project that introduced the group through the singles "Oh NaNa," "Don't Recall," and "Rumor." The group's name represents King, Ace, jokeR, and hiDden, reflecting their playing-card concept, with each member associated with a different card or role.
KARD quickly established a distinctive identity within K-pop through their co-ed lineup, which combines contrasting male and female vocal tones, rap and vocals, and interactive choreography. Their music is particularly associated with tropical house, dancehall, Latin-pop, and club-oriented sounds, helping them build a strong international following. Their later releases, including "Gunshot," "Ring The Alarm," and "Icky," further developed their performance-driven sound. Their fandom is known as Hidden KARD.
Following their debut, KARD released the mini albums You & Me (2017) and Ride On The Wind (2018), while also building an international presence through multiple world tours and performances across North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. In 2019 and 2020, they continued with the singles "Bomb Bomb" and "Dumb Litty," followed by the mini album Red Moon and their first single album Way With Words, which featured "Gunshot." J.Seph enlisted for mandatory military service in October 2020 and returned in April 2022, after which KARD resumed full-group activities with their fifth mini album Re: and its title track "Ring The Alarm."
KARD continued their career with the mini albums Icky (2023), Where To Now? (Part.1 : Yellow Light) (2024), and Drift (2025), alongside continued touring and international promotions. In 2023, they also signed with UTA to manage their international activities.
In 2026, KARD released their first full-length album, Where To Now? (Part.2) : Nowhere. DSP Media subsequently announced that the group's upcoming world tour would mark the conclusion of their activities with the agency as their contracts approached expiration on December 31. Although this initially led to speculation that KARD would disband, Jiwoo clarified that the members were not disbanding. Instead, their journey with DSP Media would be ending, with the members taking a pause to pursue activities in a new environment before eventually coming together again and continuing as KARD.
