SPARKLING is a four-member fictional project boy group created for the KBS2 television drama Imitation. Although not an actual idol group, SPARKLING gained notable popularity through the series and its accompanying music releases.

In April 2021, the group launched official social media accounts and began releasing promotional content connected to the drama, including teaser posters and debut-style announcements ahead of their official appearance in Imitation. The project replicated the activities of a real K-pop group, further blurring the line between fiction and reality for viewers and fans.

Despite being fictional, SPARKLING achieved impressive commercial success with their debut mini album Diamond. In August 2021, the album topped Hanteo Chart’s daily physical album rankings after selling over 25,000 copies in a single day, highlighting the strong popularity and public interest surrounding the drama and its music projects.
