UNIQ (유니크) debuted under Yuehua Entertainment on October 20, 2014 with “Falling in Love.” The Chinese-Korean group brought together Yixuan, Sungjoo, Wenhan, Seungyoun and Yibo, releasing versions of its debut song for Korean- and Chinese-speaking audiences.

Their first mini album, EOEO, arrived in April 2015. Alongside the title track, it included “Luv Again,” “Listen to Me” and “Falling in Love,” with songwriting contributions from members and producers including Shin Hyuk and Joombas Music Group.

The members subsequently developed individual careers. Seungyoun released solo music as WOODZ and participated in Produce X 101, joining its project group X1 before returning to solo work following X1's dissolution in early 2020. Wenhan joined UNINE through Youth With You in 2019, while Yixuan became part of New Storm through All for One that year. Yibo's acting work included the 2019 drama The Untamed. Sungjoo also pursued acting and announced his military enlistment on March 9, 2020 in a letter to UNIQ's fans.
