VANNER is a five-member boy group formed by VT Entertainment. They debuted on February 14, 2019 with their first studio album V. Their name combines the words "Victory" and "Banner," symbolizing their goal of raising the flag of victory.
The members trained for an average of five years before beginning promotional activities in Japan in 2018, where they held concerts in Tokyo and Osaka and performed more than 200 times ahead of their Korean debut. The group also attracted early international support through a successful crowdfunding campaign before officially debuting in February 2019 with V and its title track "Better Do Better." Later that year, they released their first single album, 5cean : V.
In 2020, VANNER completed their first U.S. tour before returning with the single album Life. They continued expanding their international fanbase in 2021 through online performances and their first U.S. fan meeting, followed by their first large-scale U.S. tour in 2022 alongside the release of the single album Take Off.
The group's breakthrough came in 2023 when they competed as Team 11:00 on JTBC's survival program Peak Time, ultimately winning the competition. Their victory significantly boosted the group's popularity, leading to a three-year management partnership with KLAP Entertainment for album production and promotions, while remaining under VT Entertainment. They also signed with Intertwine to oversee their U.S. activities. Following their success on the show, VANNER released their first mini album, Veni Vidi Vici, surpassed 100,000 album sales for the first time, and embarked on their first fan concert tour across Asia. During this period, they also made their Japanese debut with "Performer (Japanese Ver.)".
In 2024, the group continued their momentum with the mini albums Capture the Flag and Burn, while also holding their first solo concert tour, The Flag: A to V. Ahead of Burn, they released the English digital single "I Don't Think That I Like Her." On October 11, 2024, VANNER earned their first-ever music show win with "Automatic" on Music Bank, marking a major milestone in their career. During the year, Sungkook enlisted for his mandatory military service, while Hyesung briefly enlisted before being discharged on medical grounds.
In 2025, VANNER released their fourth single album, Goodbye & Hello, which became their final release under VT Entertainment and KLAP Entertainment. Shortly before the agencies' contracts expired, the members successfully obtained the trademark rights to the group's name, allowing them to retain ownership of VANNER moving forward. Yeonggwang enlisted for his mandatory military service on September 4, 2025. Later that August, leader Taehwan announced that the group would be entering an indefinite hiatus while the members focused on fulfilling their military service and individual activities.
