뉴 소개

Choi Chanhee (최찬희), professionally known as New (뉴), is a South Korean singer best known as a former member of the boy group THE BOYZ. He officially debuted with the group on December 6, 2017, serving as one of its main vocalists.

Following THE BOYZ’s departure from IST Entertainment, New and the other members signed with ONE HUNDRED in December 2024. In February 2026, nine members of THE BOYZ notified ONE HUNDRED of their intention to terminate their exclusive contracts, citing issues including unpaid settlements and a breakdown of trust. New did not participate in the termination notice or the subsequent legal action and initially remained under contract with the company.

On August 6, 2026, Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, Q, Sunwoo, and Eric announced that they had finalized an agreement to continue THE BOYZ as a nine member group under a new label system, officially moving forward without New.

On August 27, 2026, it was reported that New and ONE HUNDRED had mutually agreed to terminate his exclusive contract. As part of the agreement, New returned the signing payment he had received when joining the company. Unlike the other members, his departure from ONE HUNDRED was settled through an agreement rather than the injunction proceedings. Following the termination of his contract, New began preparing to pursue activities independently, with reports indicating that discussions regarding his future career and music activities were already underway.
