소민 소개

Jeon Somin, also known mononymously as Somin is the main vocalist and visual of the co-ed group KARD under DSP Media.

Somin first debuted in 2012 as a member of PURETTY, a South Korean group based in Japan. However, prior to the group’s planned Korean debut, they disbanded in 2014. In the same year, Somin, alongside fellow PURETTY members Yoon Chae-kyung and Cho Shi-yoon participated on MBC’s KARA Project (also known as Baby KARA), a show aimed to find new members for the girl group KARA following the exit of members Nicole & Jiyoung. Somin reached the final stage and finished the show in second place, losing out to Hur Young-ji.

In 2014, she also appeared on Epik High's Born Hater music video.

On August 24, 2015 Somin made her debut once again as member and leader of the girl group APRIL. Shortly after her debut, in September she left the group to focus on her studies and explore music.

In 2016, DSP Media revealed their newest group, a co-ed act that would eventually become KARD. KARD released three pre-debut singles that were well-received and charted in multiple countries. They officially debuted in July 2017 with their mini album Hola Hola.

Somin was featured on a special version of Super Junior’s 2018 song "Lo Siento" alongside KARD member Jiwoo. She also collaborated with Pentagon’s Hui on the track “Swim Good” which they performed on Mnet’s music battle show, Breakers.

In 2019, Somin, alongside CLC’s Seungyeon, celebrity stylist Han Hye-yeon and social media influencers participated in the show Next Beauty Creators which aired on OnStyle. The cast members each uploaded a new video every week to their respective YouTube channels, as they battled to earn the most views and subscribers. Somin launched her channel where she released makeup tutorials and similar content, and now posts vlogs, covers and behind-the-scenes content.

On April 2, 2026 she released her debut solo EP UNVEIL with the title track “Backseat”.
