Following GFRIEND's disbandment in May 2021, Yuju left Source Music. On September 1, 2021, it was reported that she joined Konnect Entertainment for her solo career.

Yuju made her solo debut on January 18, 2022, with the extended play Rec. and its lead single "Play."

On March 11, 2025, it was announced Yuju signed an exclusive contract with AT AREA.
