Si-yeon first entered the music industry in 2014, debuting with MINX through the digital single “Why Did You Come to My Home?”. Following the group’s limited commercial performance, MINX was reorganized and relaunched as Dreamcatcher in late 2016, with all five original members retained. She re-debuted with Dreamcatcher in January 2017 with the single album "Nightmare", marking a shift toward a rock-influenced sound that later became the group’s defining identity.

In 2017, Si-yeon participated in the YG Entertainment survival program MIXNINE, appearing under her birth name before withdrawing due to scheduling conflicts. She later expanded her individual activities, making her solo debut in January 2020 with the digital single “Paradise”. In 2022, she released “Entrancing”, a solo track included on Dreamcatcher’s second studio album "Apocalypse: Save Us". Her second solo digital single, “Start Over”, was released in December 2023.

Si-yeon is recognized for her vocal range, performance versatility, and contributions to Dreamcatcher’s distinct musical direction.
